Mayor Turid Backe-Viken is a well-known face in Trysil, and is always on the go, both during and outside working hours. Her favorite trip is Åsrunden. It is a round trip with varied terrain and if you have plenty of time, you can have a break at Skorkoia with waffles and a hot drink. If you have a head torch, an evening workhout is absolutely to recommend. The round tripis approx. 12.5 km, and if you want to go for longer you can add the round around Korsberget and get twice as long a lap if you want.

Gunn Marit is an active lady, and is often seen on the cross-country trail. Her favorite trails are in her home area around Vestby. The "Jerpen round" and the "Trysilsetra round" are her best tips for those who want to go a little longer rounds. The Jerpen round trip is approx. 14 km and the Trysilsetra round trip is approx. 22 km long.

"Both trails have tracks that are made up with a scooter (and not the larger track-making vehicle), but the tracks are still great for skiing," says Gunn Marit. And especially if you want some peace and quiet, these are a good alternative to the trails in Trysilfjellet. The Jerpen round has quite a few hills up and down, and with narrow scooter tracks, it can sometimes be a little challenging. But hey - we all need a bit of action in life!

The Trysilsetra round also has its hills, but they are less challenging. From the Trysil-setra round, there are also tracks up to the cross-country trails in Trysilfjellet/Grønstad, so here you have several opportunities for even longer trips.

Bjørn Burås knows the cross-country trails in and around Trysilfjellet better than most, and Bjørn's favourite round is Brune Høgda.

"I park at Håvi or at the intersection Vestbyvegen (Grønstad), depending on the traffic. The round trip is approx. 14 km,  suitably hilly and nice views of the mountains. Can easily be combined with the Ole G round trip, and park at Trysilfjellet Arena. You will then have a 30 km round. The trip is suitable for the vast majority of people who have basic skiing skills, and who are in shape to ski 14 km. There are no steep hills up and some cool, slightly steeper slopes down. The trip takes about an hour, depending on the skiing conditions and your fitness."

Anja Holmøy Aamold, Business Manager in Trysil Municipality

As a classic westerner, Anja thrives if she can on a mountain or a hill, and preferably on the more wider mountain cross country skis. "The nicest winter summit trips I have done in Trysil are to Drevfjellet and Skjærhøa in the east of Trysil, and Kampflåhøgda in Trysil-Knut's Fjellverden. Another memorable experience was visiting Støtfjellet in the full moon," says Anja.

Anja H. Aamold , Business manager and avid skier

- If I'm going on a cross-country trail trip, I often end up in Ås, but the round around Trysilfjellet is also very nice! I normally park at Skihytta and take trail 3 to Grønnskaret, further over Lågfjellet and to the R-area in Fageråsen. From there, I slide trail 11/12 down to Skistar Lodge, have a break with a hot drink there, before the trip continues on trail 10 across the slalom routes, on the upside of Knettsetra, and back to Skihytta again.

"The trip is about 13 km and is suitable for most people who have done a lot of cross-country skiing. The reason why I think this round is nice, is that you get to feel a little bit of the pulse in Trysilfjellet, without being on alpine skiing. If you want a slightly longer trip, you can also go on the round around Skurfjellet, then the trip will be 4.3 km longer."

Have a nice trip!
