1. Idyll on a horse-drawn sleigh

Join us for a magical winter adventure in Trysil's deep forests. On a sleigh ride, you'll be all wrapped up in warm fur, and then heading straight for the forest! This is a really atmospheric trip where both sleigh bells and torches are part of the experience. After about 20 minutes in the horse-drawn sleigh, you arrive at the lavvu, which is the destination of the trip. Choose between an evening trip with a delicious 3-course dinner or a family trip with barbequing sausages a fire whilst enjoying a nice warm drink.

2. Experience one of Norway's longest toboggan runs
Here we are really talking about an experience out of the ordinary! Ski down one of Norway's longest toboggan runs on Fulufjellet – only 45 minutes away from the center of Trysil. The toboggan is hooked onto a lift that pulls you all the way up to the top of the 1600 meter long hill, before you can set off downhill at a blistering speed! If the conditions are optimal, the toboggan can actually go up to 70 kilometers per hour, so it may not be a coincidence that the age limit is 10 years.
There is also a separate toboggan run for the little ones, where the recommended age limit is 5 years. Here, the children must drive together with an adult, if they dare. And then we are not necessarily talking about the children. Ready, set, toboggan!
3. Snowshoeing in Winterland
With snowshoes, you can experience nature in a whole new way. Join us on a fantastic two-hour family-friendly snowshoeing trip in wintry surroundings that suits people of all ages! The guide will adapt the length, terrain and speed to your and their needs. Loan of snowshoes and poles is of course included in the price. If you are interested in other nature experiences, Wolverine Adventure can tailor this for you.
4. Dog sledding in beautiful nature
Dog sledding is speed, excitement and adventure in one and the same experience! In Trysil you can steer your own dog sled through real high mountain terrain. When the first nerve-wracking minutes are over, and you notice that you actually have control over the dogs, you can really take in the fantastic nature. Depending on how tight your schedule is, you can choose between 40 minutes, half day or a full day. There are two operators that engage in dog sledding in Trysil, and they both offer activities that are adapted to the disabled.
5. Take the family on a snowmobile trip
In Ljørdalen, in the far east of Trysil, you can both rent a scooter and participate in a guided scooter tour. Fulufjellet Alpine Center recommends a 3-hour guided snowmobile tour for the optimal experience. To go on a guided tour, it is enough that you have a driving license that is approved in Norway.
The boutique hotel Villa Fregn is one of the few hotels in Norway that is connected to snowmobile trails, and here you can also rent snowmobiles and join guided tours. And when you already are at Villa Fregn, we can recommend both their lunch and dinner.
Have you heard of Moonbikes? If not, these are electric "snow bikes" that get you out into the terrain without noise and pollution. It's a lot of fun too!
6. Ice bathing and sauna in the Trysil river
At Trysilelva camping you can take a refreshing bath in the Trysil river and afterwards get warm again in the sauna on the river's edge. A ladder into the river allows you to get up and down the river safely at your own pace. The sauna can be booked, and firewood is made available to keep the heat up. The absolutely fantastic view is included in the price.

7. Ice rink for everyone

A visit to the ice rink is a guarantee of big smiles for both children, young people and adults! The ice rink is located by the river, just behind Hagebæk in the center of Trysil. The rink is prepared and open as long as the weather gods play along, and is completely free to use. The course has floodlights that light up all evening. Bring your own skates and join the fun!
8. Different skiing experiences
In Trysil you can ski both morning and evening. If you are a real early bird, and want an exclusive and unique start to your skiing day, we can strongly recommend Early Skiing. In short, Early Skiing is about having the black and freshly groomed slopes in Høgegga almost to yourself for two hours.
There is evening skiing until 20:00 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Every Wednesday there is also a torchlight drive down hill 15 at the Tourist Center. Here you just have to show up for everyone who wants to!
9. Hike with llama or alpaca

Have you tried alpaca hiking before? Well, then the time might be right now? Join us on a trip with these cute, weird and funny animals from Kilde Gård.

10. You are allowed to enjoy the indoors, too
Swimming and surfing
Even though the winter holidays are a lot about outdoor activities, you have to be able to enjoy yourself inside as well. At Radisson Blu Resort Trysil you will find swimming activities for everyone. There are three different pools, which means that you will find something for everyone. If you want an extra fun challenge, you can try the surf wave or the climbing wall!
Spa and bowling
The spa facility is located next door, and offers delicious relaxation for those who need a little break. Maybe bowling is the perfect competition for your family? If so, we recommend playing one or more bowling rounds in Chill Bowl & Dine! The hall has a total of eight world-class bowling lanes! You will also find both indoor and outdoor pools and spa facilities at Kulpen Spa in SkiStar Lodge Trysil in Fageråsen.
Shopping in Trysil

Remember to set aside enough time to explore shopping in Trysil. You might be surprised by the selection as even though Trysil is a small place, you will find most things, from clothes and interiors to art and electronics. We are also lucky to have a large selection of grocery stores in Trysil, all with good opening hours. Most are also open on Sundays. At Høyfjellssenteret and Turistsenteret you will find convenience stores with a good selection of goods. At Trysilsenteret you will find everything you need in one place.
What to eat or drink?
When having fun, it is always important to refuel your energy. Whether you are on the ski slopes, in the hamlets or in the city center, know that it is not far to the nearest eatery. In Trysilfjellet you can reach almost 30 restaurants with skis on your feet, and in the center of Trysil you will find both cafés and restaurants. At Villa Fregn in Skaret, you can combine dining experiences with a trip on a scooter, moonbike or maybe a day in the toboggan trail.
Here you get a full overview of the eateries.
Welcome to a fantastic winter holiday in Trysil!
