Trysil offers many different activities based in nature which will have a positive health effect both physically and mentally. Hiking in Trysil's clean and fresh nature appeals to both domestic and international guests. Health and being active plays a crucial part of the year-round core business, and have a historical basis in the fact that Trysil is built up on forestry and outdoor life. 

The level of physical activity is high in Trysil. Gaining a sense of achievement and feeling close to nature provides an increased quality of life for young and old. This is what we care about - to increase the quality of life for as many as possible.

What is being done today?

  • The activities in Trysil are adapted for all levels, from beginner to expert, and also adapted for wheelchair users. Trysil is a family-friendly area. Here it is easy for families to get to the activities without driving, with both children and equipment. The active lifestyle is also highlighted as an advantage for prospective cabin owners in Trysil.

  • Tryslinger begins with activity at an early age. At Innbygda school, they have areas for skiing and ski jumping as a natural part of the schoolyard. Nurseries/kindergartens have facilitates with cycle paths in their outdoor areas. Skistar offers free season passes for children and young people who live in Trysil. The sports studies in high school focuses heavily on alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and biathlon.

  • In working life, health and activity are also important topics for creating attractive workplaces. In Trysil, companies encourage their employees to use the activities in Trysil. The companies also emphasizes and encourages their employees to do these activites together with other colleagues.  

  • Mental health is important to us, and the health effect of being out in fresh air, unspoilt nature and taking care of each other is something we focus on. We put a lot of effort into providing guests with excellent service and hosting.   • Further develop products and service facilities for training groups in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and biathlon, and facilitate mountain bike training groups
  • Develop authentic forest and nature-based experiences in several places in the municipality
  • Developing authentic hiking trails for families
  • Develop authentic dining experiences with elements of local and sustainable ingredients
  • Facilitate walking, skiing and cycling paths that link the mountain and the city centre together
