The cross-country trails in and around Trysilfjellet can be combined into short and long round trips. The possibilities are many. Skihytta and Fageråsen are great starting points for a successful ski trip in and around Trysilfjellet.
How to find your way?

Good question! Waffle, quick lunch and cocoa are part of the cross-country trip. Svesætra and Skorkoia are two nice excursion destinations with skis on your feet. If this is too long, we can safely recommend Skihytta or Høyfjellssenteret - both places are good starting points, and tempt you with a hot cup and something good to eat after the trip.
We recommend starting on Ole G-vegen by Trysilfjellet Arena. If you want to go higher in the mountains, it is nice to park at the top cabin area in Fageråsen, and walk from there. Start from the information sign just above the parking lot, and follow the signs to Grønskaret. After a few hundred meters you will come to a nice shelter. If you want to go further, it is beautiful over Lågfjellet.
Yes, we can give you more! If you want to stay in the area around Trysilfjellet, Brune Høgda and Skurufjellrunden are two good tips.
Brune Høgda: Start at Trysilfjellet Arena and walk along Ole G-vegen and further up to Håvi. From here, you go for a walk around Brune Høgda before you have a great time back down to the arena. A total of 30 km.
Fageråsen - Svesætra - Fageråsen: Start in Fageråsen and walk to Svesætra, which is located between Fageråsen and Slettås, where there is an open cabin with refreshments, every day from the end of January until Easter. The return trip is about 20 km, and if you want to go further, you continue to Slettås.

These trails are prioritized in case of snowfall (in random order):
- Trysilfjellet Arena and Ole G-vegen
- Skihytta-Grønskaret and further over Lågfjellet to Fageråsen (Høyfjellssenteret and the cabin area)
- The cabin area Fageråsen
It's simply difficult to pick just a few, but we'll give it a try and then it's up to you to explore even more.
- Bittermarka: The locals' favorite! Here there are many Tryslinger who have a cabin, and it is not without reason. Here there is a large trail network in fantastic terrain.
- Trysil-Knuts Fjellverden: Located in Eltdalen, north of Trysil. Here you can go for short and long walks in a hiking area with magnificent views. Open kiosk at Easter.
Instructor on cross-country skiing
You don't have to be a beginner on cross-country skiing to benefit from an instructor. There is no doubt that the right technique gives more skiing pleasure, and luckily Trysil has many experienced instructors.
Anita Moen's Ski School
Anita Moen has, among other things, won several medals in both the Olympics and the World Championships, and is very much qualified to make you a better skier. She and her team at Anita Moen's ski school offer technical courses in both skating and classical.
