The Pilgrim Path is marked from Lutnes to Eltdalen, covering about 86 km within Trysil municipality, and then continues on to Rendalen and all the way to Nidaros! Look for the red pilgrim trail symbols on stones, poles, or markers.

It’s wonderful to take day trips along the path, where you can experience beautiful nature and nice hiking trails. There is something for all levels, as long as you choose the right distance and terrain.

If you wish to walk the Pilgrim Path continuously, there are accommodations available along the way, but this requires considerable planning and preparation. The Pilgrim Path traverses relatively remote forest and mountain terrain, and it can be a long distance between people and shops. If you plan to hike the entire Pilgrim Path continuously, you need to bring plenty of supplies and gear, making this a hike for experienced outdoor enthusiasts.

The stages described on the information signs are:

  • Lutnes – Plassen: 16 km
  • Plassen – Kolos: 8.5 km
  • Kolos – Nybergsund: 11.5 km
  • Nybergsund – Innbygda: 7 km
  • Innbygda – Jordet: 16 km
  • Jordet – Eltdalen: 18 km
  • Eltdalen – Munkbetsetra*: 16 km

*Munkbetsetra is located in Rendalen municipality, about 7 km from the Trysil municipality border. The entire stretch from Lutnes to Munkbetsetra is 93 km.
