Summer café at Bjønnsstugua
At Bjønnsstugua, you can enjoy both historical charm and the sound of the river Trysilelva alongside your coffee!
Bjønnsstugua
With its beautiful location on the floodbank by the river in the center of Trysil, Bjønnsstugua is a couple of hundred years old and may have been the first store premises in Innbygda. In the early 1900s, the cottage was used as a place for social occasions. In 2005, Bjønnstugua was taken down for restoration, and was rebuid in 2008.
In 2018, the cottage was renovated to allow volunteer groups and associations to operate a summer café, selling items such as waffles, ice cream, coffee, juice/soft drinks.
There is also opportunities for swimming nearby.
The Forest Worker's Wife
Near Bjønnsstugua stands the monument of the Forest Worker’s Wife.
When the history of Trysil is told, there is almost exclusively a focus on the male forest workers, while the contributions of women often get overlooked. The monument of the Forest Worker’s Wife highlights the women's role in the history of Trysil and brings the work of forest worker women out of oblivion.
