The Trysil Ski Marathon takes place in beautiful surroundings between Østby and the cabin areas at Ryskdalen and Solberglia and is a seeding race for both Vasaloppet and Birkebeineren.

The Trysil Ski Marathon is becoming increasingly popular, with a number of participants of 500–700 runners in recent years. The Trysil Ski Marathon is the largest annual sports event in Trysil measured in the number of participants in the active class. The date for the race in 2025 is Saturday 15 February 2025.
