Spelet hadde sin urpremieren 11. august 2001 og var et samarbeid mellom Østby Sangkor, Støa Grendelag og Museumssenteret i Trysil/Engerdal.

The play about Støa Canal is more than a performance. The scene is the timber game from 1858, the scenery is the quiet forest.

Today we see the water table in the canal as it was 150 years ago when the first log went through the canal. In other words, it is a close to authentic arena for the popular music game that every other year draws hundreds of spectators to the Støa Canal. In August 2024, Støa Kanal will be the venue for this musical theatre play for the twelfth time, which takes us back to the time when there was life and work on Støa Canal.

Story

The story tells of the toil, romance and everyday life as it may have appeared on the canal. As before, we meet a fierce blacksmith and an angry cook, cheerful cleaning girls in free expression, young and old toll bearers in fun and seriousness, and not least we experience gripping acting, good songs and beautiful music. The elegant way in which the director's task is solved gives proximity to the past and a sense of authenticity of its own.

The channel is equally suitable for families with children, company groups, groups of friends and couples of all ages. The performance has something for everyone: drama, romance, history - and not least music.

Welcome to Støa Canal in 2026!
