5 suggestions for outdoor non-skiing activities

On your visit to Trysil you probably have skies in your luggage. But Trysil also offer other outdoor activities. If you are looking for something else to do in the evening or for some hours during daytime. It is always fun to try new things. Give it a try!

1. Dog sledding

DogsleddingThere are several dog sledding tours to choose from. Family tour, one hour tour or two hours, half day tour, night tour, day tour. You will definitely find something that fits!

You can drive the sled yourself, and you can be the passenger. Either way, in front of you run top fit and top motivated dogs.

Aktiv Fritid Trysil offers dog sledding in the forest terrain. Mountain Kings Sledehundkennel is located in the mountain area.

2. Snowshoeing

You can try and learn snowshoeing in Trysil. Every Saturday and Sunday Snowbound Snowshoe Activities offers guided trips in the area around Trysilfjellet or in Tørberget. Each trip can be customized to your wishes and capabilities. No problem if you are a beginner. Snowshoeing is a brilliant experience for both children and adults.

3. Sleigh ride

Sleigh rideJoin Trysil Hestesenter on a sleigh ride! In a horse-drawn sleigh you enter the deep forests of Nesvollberget, a little place in the eastern parts of Trysil. You sit nice and warm in the sleigh, and just enjoy the fairy tale surroundings. Stop-off at a lavvo (traditional Sami tent).

Trysil Hesteskyss offers small trips in the area in Trysil Høyfjellssenter every Tuesday and Saturday. No need for pre-registration. Just stop by with 30 NOKs in your pocket.

Both trips are extremely family friendly!

4. Starhunting

StarhuntingOn nice and clear days, the stars shine bright down at us. We look up and admire the sparkling stars. But what do we actually know about this fantastic sight?

Experience Stargazing in Trysil. A nice activity for the entire family.

We provide guests with an opportunity to see the sky as never seen before, using special binoculars. You may even catch a glimpse of the northern lights.

5. Ice-skating

SkatingDo you have a pair of ice skates at home? Bring them along to Trysil. There is an outdoor ice-skating rink in the centre of Trysil. With floodlit in the evenings. Children love it here. The use is for free.
