Of course, it's allowed to take a break from skiing and find something else fun! In Trysil, there are many fun activities for those who need a break from skiing, or for those who do not ski at all.

Dog sledding
Dog sledding is an exciting adventure, and here you can steer your own sled in interaction with kind and active dogs. When the first nerve-wracking minutes have passed and you notice that you actually have control over the dogs, you can enjoy the trip in fantastic nature. Read more about dog sledding here.
Sleigh rides
At Trysil Horse Center, you will have a warm welcome from the hosts, who will take you on a great sleigh ride into the Trysil forest. Deep inside the forest, they can serve you something hot to drink whilst you enjoy grilled hotdogs in the warm lavvo, or maybe we can tempt you with a homemade 3-course dinner? Read more about the trips here.
Sledge
Try an experience out of the ordinary. Experience one of Norway's longest toboggan runs in Fulufjellet (about 45 minutes to drive from Trysil city center). The toboggan is hooked onto a lift that pulls you up and when you get to the top, all you have to do is set off. The hill is 1600 meters long! Remember to book in advance. Read more about the toboggan run here.
Indoor swimming
Can you think of anything better than a heated swimming pool on a cold winter's day? Surfers Bay at Radisson Blu Resort is a sure winner for swimmers, both young and old. At SkiStar Lodge in Fageråsen, you can also enjoy a hot bath both inside and outside at Kulpen Spa, and not least several outdoor hot tubs with fantastic views of the mountains and the alpine slopes.
Bowling
If you fancy a break from outdoor activities, head to Chill Bowl & Dine at Radisson Blu Resort Trysil for bowling and arcade games, where the stage is set for an evening of fun and games. Bring your family or group of friends to the informal competition.
Snowshoeing
Do you want to discover more of Trysil's beautiful nature? Join a guided snowshoeing tour with Wolverine Adventures. Take a look at which tours you can choose from. Maybe you want to look for animal tracks, experience the full moon or maybe even the Northern Lights?
Ice skates
Of course, you can go ice skating in Trysil! In the middle of Trysil city center is our ice rink, just south of the Trysil Center. The ice rink is prepared as long as weather and conditions allow and is free to use. The rink has floodlights that light up after dark, so you can skate whenever you want! Unfortunately, it is not possible to rent skates, so you must bring them yourself. You can also buy skates at Sport 1, which is close by, or check if BUA at the community center Hagelund has skates you can borrow (for free).
Farm visit and alpaca walk
Vangen and Bjerkli Gård in Slettås often arrange family days during holidays. Here you can come and greet the animals, and have fun in the barn. Small animals, alpacas, goats and horses are some of the animals that would like to get to know you better.
At Kilde Gård you can take the family on an alpaca hike. It's just as funny and weird as it sounds!
Ice bathing and sauna
If you fancy a challenge a little out of the ordinary, we can recommend a dip in the Trysil River! Cold? Oh absolutely, but the feeling afterwards is worth it! You will quickly regain heat in the sauna located on the river's edge.
